Breast Lift Beverly Hills

A breast lift—or mastopexy—restores shape, position, and youthful projection without necessarily changing size. My approach focuses on creating natural results with scars that heal beautifully over time.

What Is a Breast Lift?

A breast lift raises and reshapes sagging breasts by removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue. The nipple and areola are repositioned to a more youthful height on the breast mound.

Unlike breast augmentation, a lift doesn't significantly change your breast size—it restores shape and position. However, many patients choose to combine a lift with implants or fat transfer if they want both lift and added volume.

The result? Breasts that sit higher on the chest with improved projection and a more youthful contour.

What a Breast Lift Can Do For You

When performed well, a breast lift delivers some of the most satisfying results in plastic surgery—because it restores what was once there.

Lift Sagging Breasts

Raise breasts that have dropped due to pregnancy, nursing, weight loss, or simply time and gravity.

Reposition Nipples

Move downward-pointing nipples to a more forward, youthful position on the breast mound.

Reduce Areola Size

If stretched over time, the areolas can be reduced to a size that complements your newly shaped breasts.

Breast Lift Candidates

Breast sagging—what we call ptosis—happens to virtually every woman eventually. The causes vary, but the solution is the same.

Pregnancy & Nursing

Breasts expand and contract during pregnancy and breastfeeding, often leaving them deflated and lower on the chest.

Weight Fluctuation

Significant weight loss—especially with GLP-1 medications—can leave excess skin and volume loss in the breasts.

Gravity & Aging

Over time, skin loses elasticity and Cooper's ligaments stretch. Gravity does the rest. A lift reverses these effects.

Genetics

Some women naturally have breasts that sit lower or develop ptosis earlier. Genetics play a significant role.

After nursing three kids, I didn't recognize my own body anymore. Dr. Neavin gave me back breasts I'm proud of—and the scars are already barely visible at six months.

Breast Lift Incision Techniques

The incision pattern depends on how much lift you need. I always use the least amount of incision necessary to achieve your goals.

Donut

Circumareolar Lift

Mild Ptosis

Incision circles the areola only. Minimal scarring, but limited lifting power. Best for minor sagging or areola reduction.

Lollipop

Vertical Lift

Moderate Ptosis

Incision around the areola plus a vertical line to the breast crease. The most common technique—effective lift with well-hidden scars.

Anchor

Wise Pattern Lift

Significant Ptosis

Adds a horizontal incision along the breast crease. Provides maximum lift and reshaping for women with severe sagging.

Breast Lift With or Without Volume?

A lift alone restores position but not size. If you've lost volume, we have options to restore fullness—including a natural alternative to implants.

Breast Lift with Implants

Predictable volume increase

Combines lift with saline or silicone implants for women who want both elevation and a significant size increase.

  • Precise size selection
  • Maximum upper pole fullness
  • Well-established technique

Breast Lift Recovery

Recovery from breast lift surgery is typically smoother than patients expect. Here's what the timeline looks like.

Day 1

Go Home

Outpatient procedure—you'll go home the same day

Week 1

Light Activity

Sutures removed, short walks encouraged

Week 2

Return to Work

Most patients back to desk jobs

Week 6

Full Activity

Resume exercise and normal routine

What About Scarring?

This is the question I hear most often. Yes, breast lift surgery leaves scars—that's unavoidable when we remove excess skin. But here's what I tell my patients:

The scars are well-concealed around the areola and in the natural contours of the breast. They fade significantly over 6-12 months and are easily hidden by bras and swimsuits.

More importantly: I've never had a patient tell me they regret trading their sagging breasts for scars. The improvement in shape and confidence far outweighs the marks left behind.

Breast Lift FAQ

Will a breast lift make my breasts smaller?
Not significantly. A lift reshapes and repositions—it doesn't remove much breast tissue. Your cup size typically stays similar, though lifted breasts may fit differently in bras since they're no longer spread out.
Can I breastfeed after a breast lift?
Most women can still breastfeed after a lift because the milk ducts and nipple are left intact. If future breastfeeding is important to you, let me know during consultation—it may influence technique selection.
How long do breast lift results last?
Results are long-lasting, but gravity doesn't stop. Maintaining stable weight, wearing supportive bras, and avoiding smoking all help preserve your results. Most patients enjoy their results for many years before considering touch-ups.
Should I get implants with my breast lift?
Only if you want more volume. If you're happy with your breast size but unhappy with sagging, a lift alone may be perfect. If you want both lift and fullness, we can add implants or—my preference for modest increases—fat transfer.
What's the difference between breast lift and breast reduction?
A lift raises and reshapes without removing much tissue. A reduction removes significant breast volume to make breasts smaller and lighter. Both address sagging, but reductions are for women who feel their breasts are too large.
How much does a breast lift cost?
Cost depends on the technique used and whether you're combining procedures (like adding implants or fat transfer). I'll provide a detailed quote during your consultation after we determine the best approach for your goals.
