Keep surgery safe and keep it natural. That's how I continue to provide the results that my patients rave about.

Dr. Neavin believes that the best plastic surgery doesn't announce itself. His approach focuses on enhancing your natural features—restoring balance, proportion, and youthful architecture without the "done" look.

The Journey

From Psychiatry to Plastic Surgery

Dr. Neavin entered medical school planning to become a psychiatrist. A psychology major fascinated by Freud and psychoanalytic theory, he pictured himself "with the pipe on the couch." But once he started clinical rotations, something shifted.

"I did a surgery rotation and loved the hands-on feeling," he recalls. "But general surgery—you take out a gallbladder and you close it up and you can't see your work. What's the point?"

Searching for something that fit his personality, he walked into a plastic surgeon's office at Thomas Jefferson University and asked to shadow. "I just showed up. They said, 'Who are you?'" He made a proper appointment, asked three surgeons to be his mentors, and spent every free moment scrubbing in with them.

"It fit my personality," he says. "Every subspecialty in medicine has its own personality. The cool artistic people? They're the plastic surgeons. The rock stars."

Expertise

Fat Transfer: A Signature Specialty

"My specialty is fat transfer," Dr. Neavin explains. "I put fat wherever I can—the face, the breast, the body. It's a powerful way to remodel tissue and restore what time has taken away."

His philosophy is simple: Look at a baby's face—it's a ball of fat. Look at someone in their 80s—sunken, hollow. "We're all somewhere along that spectrum," he says. "If you want to get closer to the baby, you've got to put fat in."

Facial Fat Grafting

Dr. Neavin lectures internationally on facial fat transfer. He studies the shadows in a patient's face—shadows indicate volume loss—and uses fat to restore youthful architecture.

Facelift + Fat Transfer

Combining SMAS facelift technique with strategic fat grafting creates natural rejuvenation that looks refreshed—never pulled or "done."

Male Plastic Surgery

A significant portion of Dr. Neavin's practice focuses on male patients—gynecomastia, hair transplants, and body contouring for men seeking discreet, natural results.

Media & Research

Featured on the Today Show

During his residency at UPMC, Dr. Neavin co-authored a groundbreaking study examining how plastic surgery influences patients' intimate lives. The research, published as the lead article in the Aesthetic Surgery Journal, gained national attention.

"I developed the questionnaire, sent it to hundreds of patients, and analyzed the results," he recalls. "When it became the lead article, my co-author Dr. Guy Stofman was invited to the Today Show. He plugged me on national television—'Thanks to Dr. Neavin, we got these results.' I was a second-year resident watching at home. It was surreal."

Today, Dr. Neavin continues to contribute to the field. He lectures internationally on fat transfer techniques and serves as an instructor for the Plastic Surgery Education Network, training the next generation of surgeons.
